The 1902 gold 37½-ruble coin was the top lot, realizing $69,000.
The auction realized approximately $2.56 million with the buyer's fee. A total of 269 lots (16.6 percent) from the 1,619-lot auction did not sell.

Stack's world coin auction realizes $4.2 million total
Stack's Jan. 11 auction following the New York International Numismatic Convention realized $4,288,959.50 including the 15 percent buyer's fee, according to preliminary prices realized from the auction house.
The auction featured a few big collections, including that of numismatic author Cornelius C. Vermeule, the Magical Mexico Collection and gold rarities.
A total of 269 lots from the 1,619-lot auction, about 16.6 percent, did not sell. Unsold lots included dozens of gold rarities with pre-auction estimates of $50,000 and above.
